Ship & Shape Pop Up, New Arrivals, and a NEW NAME!

This weekend come help us celebrate the debut of Ship & Shape's summer collection at my studio...Music by Rachel Blomgren, Mini Cocktails by ARB Bar will be provided Saturday night...In addition to our new arrivals, shop new housewares, stationary, jewelry, ceramics, and accessories from Ship & Shape founders Erin Smith, Maddy Nye, and Annika Kaplan as well as 20 other artists! Sometimes I get so entrenched in buying things for the shop that are basically, well specifically, for someone exactly like me...meaning thirtysomething, lo-fi, mom, short, curvy, and kinda lazy...so I thought for my next Curated By it would be fun to mix it up a bit and ask the lovely sisters behind A Piece of Toast for their take on the shop - Molly & Sally - who are tall, blonde, young, out on the town and very, very glamorous...and, having had the pleasure of meeting them in person, very down to earth and nice...If you aren't already a fan head on over to their blog and here's a little more about their favorites:  

.01:  The perfect structured and simple summer tote for running errands and taking to and from the pool/beach.  I love the sunny yellow interior!

.02:  Oversized t-shirts are a mainstay for my spring/summer wardrobe and this sophisticated tie dye one is beyond cool.

.03:  I want this to wear as a cover-up during the day and with white jeans at night.

.04:  A ”statement necklace” that wont weigh you down… I love the neutral color and organic materials!

.05:  When it’s hot outside, the air conditioning gets cranked up inside… I always keep layering pieces on hand to fight the summer chill and would love to have this bright and happy Matta scarf in lilac or aloe!

.06:  The must-have sandal on my summer wish list!  This shoe is the talk of the town for it’s easy look and beyond comfortable feel.

.07:  These bangles are timeless perfection and I love the story behind them… We want to start collecting them!

.08:  The ideal summer dress style that can be worn casual (with leather flip flops) or dressy (with strappy heels).  I’m dying over the organic pattern and bright hues!

.09:  A chic hat is a must have – especially to keep the Texas sun off our faces – and we are so in love with the chic shape of this plank hat…

.10:  Is there anything more luxurious than linen cocktail napkins, especially when accompanied with a summer cocktail?

two for tuesday

Do y'all ever get the feeling from these that I actually have the most boring wardrobe ever? It's just that I get really, really excited about great basics...honestly, I just want to roll out of bed in the morning and be able to grab two super comfy pieces that still feel chic and that I can load up with cool accessories to make more interesting...now that it has finally warmed up (I say that and yet it's supposed to drop 30 degrees and SNOW tomorrow - sheesh) I am in full mommy at the playground mode so these pieces are kind of perfection...boy jeans from Madewell (I love them so much I bought them in linen too...fit note: in the denim size down) and the ubiquitous Everlane Ryan tee is my new favorite...just the right amount of scoop and drape...and $25!
Okay, off to soak up some more sunshine...

I swear if you could divide the entertainment center of my brain into two parts it might look something like these two trailers...one half smart, complicated, adult, nuanced, a little jaded, a little romantic...

 

and the other half prone to trashy, teenagery, guilty pleasure watching impulses...and oh boy does this hit all the right marks...

In other words...I can't wait to see both of these movies...
